However, this coin also has a downside. I think many of those who read this text have themselves played forbidden games more than once and used far from licensed products. Each for different reasons, but the essence does not change – if it weren’t for pirated products, you might not have become a gamer.

And here’s what I’m getting at: today’s generation of young gamers no longer uses pirated products. You will say that this is good! But it’s not that simple. It would be very, very good if they preferred a licensed copy of the same games to pirated products, but this is not the case. Instead of buying or even downloading games from torrents, the younger generation prefers free2play entertainment.
And this happens for obvious reasons, I even understand perfectly well how this can be corrected, but first things first.

This happens because licensed products are in any case preferable to pirated ones. Even a child understands this. He already knows that a pirated disc will not allow him to play with friends, and it can cause problems. But there is also no desire to pay, because freebies are attractive. And unfortunately f2p in this case is the ideal solution. It is free to play that combines those qualities that attract young people. Besides, they don’t even know about the disadvantages. When downloading some WOT, they don’t even suspect that under the guise of a free game there is hidden a clever game mechanic that sooner or later will push them to the abyss of donation. And they can’t judge the quality of these projects, simply because they haven’t really played the others. As a result, the younger generation is simply not interested in the games that we talk so much about here.

Why is this bad? Because children are our future and the future of the gaming industry largely depends on them. Not because they will grow up and become game makers, no, this is primitive thinking. But because they will grow up and become the buyers for whom the industry works.

How to fix it? Bring back piracy? Not again. This can only be corrected by cultivating a gaming culture, which is only gaining momentum in our country.

What will this lead to?? I don’t think that the consequences will be at all catastrophic, but they are already noticeable – there are more and more f2p projects, they are moving to consoles and capturing more and more new markets. Most of the consumers of such products are children and their fathers who are well over forty. In other words, the audience is not familiar with the gaming culture for one reason or another.

It’s safe to say that this "illnesses"there is a treatment – more BUY good games, influence your friends and children of your acquaintances, and also support in every possible way what you like. Even just talking about it is better than just ignoring it.
